The New Year of 2013 is going to be

FANTASTIC!

 

This is the OCM Mission goal and what has happened for the  year of 2012!!!

The historic year of 2012 is coming to and end. We have witnessed many miracles. We have done what the Lord has asked us and built His kingdom in the vineyard in which we were called to labor.

“20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” -Matthew 25:20-21

At the beginning of the year we had a goal of 480 baptisms. It was a goal that was seemingly impossible and some would say unrealistic. We exercised faith and felt the divine presence of angels helping us in the work. We knew that we could help more than 480 of our brothers and sisters return home to our loving Heavenly Father. We raised the goal to 500 knowing that this increase of our goal would push us to new heights. Elders and Sisters for the year of 2012 we have help 488 of our brothers and sisters enter into the waters of baptism. Never could we have asked for a greater blessing. Some of us may have the tendency to think that buy not reaching our goal of 500 we may have failed. Elders and Sisters we did not fail, not even in the slightest. If we had only baptized 1 person in 2012 it still would have been a mighty victory, because to that one person it changed their life for the better. It is literally the greatest victory of their existence. Overcoming the world and choosing truth and righteousness…..even when it’s so much easier to follow the world. Following the Savior in all things and having the Knowledge of a loving Heavenly Father. But we did not just help 1 we helped 488 gain victory over the world and partake of eternal blessings, even the atonement of Jesus Christ. It was a great victory for each one of them and is for each one of us. Think of the accomplishments that we achieved, at one point in the year of 2011 we were having only 20 baptisms a month, this last year we had 55 in August and 56 in December. Just think of the miracle it is to have a change of heart and make those sacred covenants with Heavenly Father. In the scriptures we read about people moving mountains, rivers changing course, sick being healed and the dead being raised. Those all indeed are miracles of great worth and majesty, but all those miracles will happen to everyone. Everyone will rise from the dead, limbs and joints will be restored, the earth will return to its celestial glory, but in the end not all men will have a change of heart and willingly choose to repent and follow the Savior. The Fact that we were able to help 488 have a change of heart is a miracle of the greatest degree. We can truly say as the apostle Paul: “ I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:” 2 tim 4:7

Now Elders and Sisters, our goal of baptisms does not end with the year of 2012 or with the number 488. 2011 we had 360, and 2012 we had 488 equaling so far 848 souls who chose to follow the Savior. Our work is not finished. We have a Labor to perform. The adversary would have us think we can slow down now and that we can take a short break. But here in The Great Ohio we are a different breed of Missionaries. Moving forward is not just a phrase but something we do. We consistently exercise diligence and excellence. While the world may bask in their privileges, We invest in our purpose. We are a mission of Leaders, a mission of forward thinkers, a mission of over achievers, and a mission who goes beyond the call of duty. Taking brakes and slowing down are for the dead and those who don’t have a purpose firm. There is no limit to what can be accomplished. 

 Let’s make the year 2013...

 One for the History Books!!!

I hope everyone will have a super good New Year!!!

For this New Year Pres. Nilsen has been making a whole ton of new changes!

1. We no longer can be fed by anyone on Mondays.
2. Our P-Days are getting shorter and shorter.
 

When I first got there our P-Day was from morning till 6:00pm…but we could
still eat at someone’s house after 6:00pm…Now we have to eat at 4:30 and be
out working at 5:00pm on Prep Day!...haha

It’s all good for the Mission!
